Golden Artist Residency

In the summer of 2015, I was selected for my first artist residency at Golden Artist Colors in New Berlin, NY. During this amazing experience, I took advantage of the incredible seminars with the Golden product experts and the myriad of paints available to use to experiment!
My trompe-l'œil paintings take about a year each to create so it was especially exciting to get to work in acrylic for the first time on a wide range of projects. I had been creating a series of daily digital works leading up to the residency and these became the starting point for a radical new series of work for me. These works, some paintings and some installations are explorations of ideas that run throughout my all my work. Illusion vs. reality, deconstructions of art history, and the influence of digital media in a post-Internet culture. |
